Géza Pintér-Németh (Hungary) studied at Pécs University, graduating in 2010. He has worked with several street theatre companies in Germany and in Italy from 2008 to 2016. He is a theoretical and practical researcher of the intercultural aspect of theatre events in rural areas. In this field he has managed Erasmus and Creative Europe projects since 2016. He has been doing a DLA program at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest (SZFE) since 2023.
The performance Anástasis (Resurrection) directed by Eugenio Barba, as part of the 9th Madách International Theatre Meeting (MITEM) and the 10th Theatre Olympics, was presented on 20 May 2023 at the National Theatre of Hungary. The production brought together the results of the 17th ISTA session. The text below summarises the event and gives a retrospective through an interview with Julia Varley and Eugenio Barba, and focuses on Anástasis, a Theatrum Mundi performance in dialogue with the main stage of the National Theatre of Hungary. Analysis of the performance leads towards an interpretation of the Third Theatre movement.
