Author Biography
Aline Menassé (Mexico) is an actress, director, playwright, teacher and translator. She began her career in theatre in 1970 and co-founded the Teatro Laboratorio La Rueca in 1980 and was member of the National System of Creators, Secretaria de Cultura from 2018 to 2021. Amongst others, she is playwright and director of the plays Virginia the Death of the Moth, Frida Intimate Delirium, and Antigona's Island; and director of the plays Pervertimento and Otros Gestos para Nada by José Sanchis Sinisterra; Tloque Nahuaque/It who has everything in itself; Shlemiel the First by Bashevi Singer; Non tutti i ladri vengono per nuocere by Dario Fo. She has attended workshops with national and international figures such as Jerzy Grotowski, Eugenio Barba, Odin Teatret, Roy Hart Theatre, Mario Delgado, José Sanchis Sinisterra, Patrice Pavis, Pol Pelletier, Ludwik Margules, Luis de Tavira, Héctor Mendoza.
